Today is my last day of poly life. I have met many wonderful people and learnt many things from my lecturers and friends.
I went to school at 1600 because I need to print supporting documents for my university application. Also, I need to print my resume, cover letter and poster/flyers. When all was done, it was 1630, my friends sat at the concourse area to practice for our CCOM interview at 1700. All of us were very nervous. We heard from our friends and classmates that some of the interviewer is strict while some was not. Then we proceed to the waiting area at 1655. My heart were pumping so hard and my hands started to shiver. There were a few of our classmates outside. We took the opportunity to ask them how was their interview as they went in before us. One of them took us that the interview was very strict as when she compare with her friends she didn't do well. (BTW she got 15/20). Then all of us started to panic. This is because she was a better speaker than all of us. If she gets only 15, then we will not get that high easily.
Soon after chatting and practicing, it is my turn - first person in the 1700 slot. I was so nervous that my mind went blank for a moment. The interview greet me and I returned it.
She started by asking me about the company/agent. I was stunned. I didn't researched on the agent at all as I thought company was more important. Hence, I just answered how a job agent should operate. Then she asked the number of company, I just anyhow answered it by saying that there are a few internationally. Soon she start asking about headhunter and I was like "huh". It was like a totally unrelated to the job advertisement. Luckily, I managed to turn her attention to the job I wanted -- payroll officer. After that she asked me everything that is related to the job such as what is the job about, why did you choose this job, how can you manage stress in the fast paced environment, give evidence on you achievements, etc. All these I could answer smoothly even though there was some pauses at some moments. The last question she asked was is there anything you would like to say about the job. By that time, my brain was about to explore. I wanted to tell her that everyone in the company must be able to work together. However, the words didn't come out the way I want to and she misinterpret it. I just said yes to her misunderstanding as I wanted to leave the room. She just give some advice about the job. Before I left the room she commented that I have a good interpersonal skills and she liked the way I answered her questions - with confident. Overall, she said, "you are suitable for the job."
I was so happy. Outside, I called the next person which is Joyce. After that my friends started asking me questions. I told them what I remembered. Then they asked me about their results. I didn't checked after I left the room. When I checked it, I was double happy. I got 16/20, more than the classmate we chatted just now. I didn't expect to get so much as my aim was 13 or 14. But anyway, I learnt a lot from CCOM.
I have to stop here as I need to sleep. Tomorrow, I still need to decide on what course I wanna take in University.
P.s. I am applying for SMU, NUS and NTU.
